North Carolina ABC stores are closed on Sunday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Utah state liquor stores are closed on Sunday and on legal holidays.

Are North Carolina ABC stores open on Sunday?
No. State law closes them every Sunday. The same law closes them on Thanksgiving and Christmas. G.S. 18B-802(b)
Are Utah state liquor stores open on Sunday?
No. A state liquor store cannot sell liquor on Sunday. Package agencies are a separate kind of shop. This site does not use that Sunday statute for them. Utah Code 32B-2-503(5)
Are the stores open on Thanksgiving 2026?
North Carolina ABC stores are closed on Thursday, November 26, 2026. Utah state liquor stores are closed that day too. How old do you have to be to buy alcohol?
In North Carolina you must be 21. A seller can check a driver's license, a state ID, a military ID, or a passport. A Utah state store cannot sell liquor to anyone under 21.
